Hỏa Lò Prison, located in Hanoi, Vietnam, was originally built by the French in 1896 to detain political prisoners fighting for independence. Known as the “Hanoi Hilton” during the Vietnam War, it later housed American POWs, including notable figures like Senator John McCain.

Today, Hỏa Lò is a museum, offering visitors a glimpse into Vietnam’s colonial past and its struggles for independence. It serves as a reminder of the resilience and sacrifices of those imprisoned there.
