Quan Đế Temple, also known as Temple of the Guardian Spirits, is located in Hanoi’s Old Quarter on Hàng Buồm Street. Built by the Chinese community during the 17th century, the temple is dedicated to Guan Yu, a famous general from the Three Kingdoms period, revered for his loyalty, bravery, and righteousness.

The temple’s architecture is a blend of Vietnamese and Chinese styles, with red pillars, dragon carvings, and detailed altars. Inside, a large statue of Guan Yu, holding his signature weapon, greets visitors along with other sacred figures.

Quan Đế Temple has long been a spiritual center for the Chinese-Vietnamese community, where people come to pray for success in business, protection, and justice. The temple hosts special ceremonies during Chinese festivals, attracting many worshippers.

Today, the temple is a cultural landmark, offering visitors insight into the rich historical connection between the Chinese community and Hanoi’s history.
